About me

blah blah blah
This is me. Photo by me.

I am a sophomore at the University of Arizona, working toward my B.A. in Law with aspirations to go to law school.

I work at the U of A (sorry, I can’t bring myself to use “UArizona” as it’s awful and most people hate it) as a Senior Systems Administrator. Or, as I affectionately refer to myself…tech monkey. I live near Marana with my wife and three beautiful, silly kitty cats. (For those of you from far-away lands, Marana is roughly 15 miles Northwest of campus.)

My interests include weightlifting, retro video games, really horrible movies, classic American muscle cars, old pro wrestling, and attempting to set a new PR each weekend for how long I can sleep in uninterrupted.

I didn’t start my university journey until I was almost 48 years old. My childhood was awful, as was my twenties. As a result, I have a lot of pain to tap in to for writing material and inspiration. I spent my thirties and forties rebuilding myself, and now I’m ready to reach for something higher and live up to my potential. As I type this, I have a 4.0 GPA, and I’m working hard to keep that until graduation.

My goals are to one day be an attorney who practices either employment law and/or criminal law, to serve as proof to others that your traumas don’t need to define you, and also to prove that if you’re not dead then it’s not too late to chase your dreams.

I’m a pretty friendly and personable guy who loves meeting new people along the way through my university adventure. So, if you’re so inclined, reach out to me and say hello. I’m easy to find on Facebook. When “Bret” is correctly spelled you’ll get either me or some real estate guy who lives in Omaha.
